What is the best way to get rid of exam stress?
Exam times can be very stressful for certain students especially if they are preparing for their final semester or board exams. Exam stress is nothing but a combination of fear and excitement at the same time. Students fear unfortunate scenes like poor grades or tough papers which eventually result in stress and anxiety about the future. But being one of the chilled people during my exam days, I can guide you on how to get rid of exam stress?
There are many students who study for hours and hours without a movement resulting in mental stress and fatigue. The solution is to study smartly. Set a goal of taking a break of 5 minutes every hour. This will help you to concentrate better and to remember what you study.
Calculate the days remaining for your exam and set a timetable for your syllabus. Take a diary and a pen and note down the tasks for today. When you finish a task, cross it in your diary. Many times students prepare a timetable spending 2-3 hours but when they fail to cope up with the schedule, they face stress and anxiety. Remember, if you fail a task you have another day for it. Don’t stress about it.
3:Keep your surroundings clean
Now, this might sound silly but it surely plays an important role here. Make sure you clean your room before you begin your study. A messed-up room will affect your focus and will result in a lack of concentration on studies. Keep your study table neat and tidy with limited books. Pro tip: Try to keep a small plant near your table. Plants can help you to remain calm and reduce exam worries.
Exercise is one of the best cures to fight exam stress. When you go through physical activities, your body’s stress hormone known as Cortisol is reduced. On the contrary, it releases endorphins which are happy hormones that help combat stress.
Pro tip: When you are feeling low for studies, go and have one workout session and then try studying. Thank me later!
5:Talk with your friends
A small talk with your buddies might help you to stop worrying about your exams. When you discuss your situation with your friends they might help you to find the solution. With support, they will also help you with study advice that can help you in your exams.
In the end, marks are not the only criteria which will decide your future so take your exams in way of learning rather than focusing only on grades. Never be afraid to talk about your issues with your family, friends, or any professional as they might help you to get out of this period.
